Position: Associate Human Resources Generalist (Entry Level)

Location: Andover, MA (on-site Monday - Friday)

Pay: Hourly

What You'll Do: 

  • Administers employee health and welfare plans company wide. Benefit programs include medical/dental/vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, workers' compensation, leave of absence, Flexible Spending (Section 125), etc.

  • Acts as liaison between employee, insurance providers and to resolve benefit related problems and ensure effective utilization of plans and positive employee relations.

  • Manages annual open enrollment period including distribution of materials from carriers, communicating changes to employees and arranges for on-site representation by benefits broker.

  • Processes changes within deadlines.

  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

  • Serves as the Cobra liaison for 3rd Party Administrator.

  • Ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions.

  • Counsel employees (and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed benefit decisions.

  • Provides administrative support to human resources function as needed (e.g. correspondence generation, record keeping, file maintenance, HRIS entry).

  • Manage onboarding for the Andover office, and coordinate with the office administration at the other BDN offices to ensure proper onboarding procedures are followed, including I-9 verification, profile setup in the HRIS (ADP Workforce Now).

  • Performs other HR generalist duties as assigned.

Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of experience in the HR field and/or education experience preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize and multitask written and verbal communication skills; professionalism is key

  • experience with HRIS platforms. Prior experience using ADP/ Workforce-Now preferred

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
